The Elus galleries are a test in ownership and residency through a minor hack
of the postal service. In the heart of the Old Town in Tallinn, Estonia I
installed a mailbox on an abandoned building and solicited for mail. This mail I
would then feature in one of four derelict buildings I co-opted for the project.
I documented the submissions and junk mail I received on the site
Street Mail and installed all of
the work in the 4th of the Elus galleries (Elus IV).
The Elus IV gallery, found down by the harbor in the abandoned Glatec Building
became the main exhibition space. Guest artist
Yale Wolf contributed on-site as
well as numerous individuals through the assistance of the postal service.
